What if every villain you'd read about in a comic book or novel, all the bad guys you watched on movies and in video games as a kid were real? What if there really was a Michael Meyers and what if Lestat de Lioncourt had walked the earth? What if Magneto was not just a sketch in a comic and Dracula wasn't some fantasy creature from another century? I am here to tell you that all these things, all these people are or were real. And not only that, but many of them went on and had children who carry a specific gene that predisposes them to being evil just like their parents. These kids don't look any different from you or from me (well except that one boy who wears dresses and false eyelashes) and you might have even met or befriended one of these people. That girl you bullied in class? She's the daughter of Dr. Doom. The boy who seems a little too twitchy and quiet? He's the son of a centuries old werewolf that doesn't look a day over 40. Maybe you had a teacher who looked familiar but you just couldn't put your finger on why she made you feel so uneasy. She may have been a child of a villain, too!
The US government’s Villain Control Unity (VCU) has spent the last sixty years studying villains (both those who are still evil and those who were later rehabilitated) and their offspring. As the children were born the government closely monitored them and even took some of them in for testing. After much research they discovered that there was a specific genetic mutation that caused these kids to be predisposed to evil and insanity. They’ve also taken care to keep the fact that there are villains walking the earth secret from general society. They knew they needed a way to be able to study the kids in depth and also to try to monitor their activity around peers of their own age who were ‘normal’.
In the last five years a boarding school has been meticulously revamped from an old, abandoned monastery to groom these kids for life as a normal, law abiding citizen. Some of these kids need more help than others, but Illmenni Academy has everything they need to learn to control those disturbing urges to hurt and to maim. Their motto is that you do not have to be bad; you can always choose the forces of good over the forces of evil. The Illmenni Academy staff worked hard to get this place as a safe haven for the children of villains. Many of them have flocked to the small town of White Birch, Colorado to attend the school's grand opening this fall. And just as many people have the idea that this whole plan will fail due to the types of kids attending here and the potentially deadly combination of powers and various species here.
But not everyone who attends Illmenni is a bad apple. There has been a careful process of selecting 'normal' kids to add to the mix to try to even out the good to evil ratio. The school hopes by adding kids who are not predisposed to being bad will have a positive influence on the rest of the students attending Illmenni. Of course this didn't stop the school from having the parents of the normal kids sign a waiver stating they were not responsible for accidents or injuries (including death) that might happen. Some of these kids honestly want to 'repent' as it were, and to stop the shame of their family name from haunting them. But some of these kids don't want to change and take pride in being known for their famous parents. And some of these kids are just plain crazy. In any case, once you walk through the doors of Illmenni Academy, you'll definitely change. For the better or for worse is up to you. Just remember you were born villain, don't pretend to be a victim.
